How you can help

Report cat sightings to afurryfriendsfund@gmail.com or text 540-447-0182.
Before reporting, try to determine if the cat might belong to someone nearby by looking for a collar, calling the police station to ask if a cat has been reported missing, and/or hanging a note on a nearby post or dumpster.
Take a picture of the cat.
Don’t assume a stray cat has a home or is being fed because it doesn’t look skinny.
An unspayed cat that roams outdoors can have three litters in one year, resulting in 12 kittens. If those 12 kittens are not spayed, they could have 144 offspring of their own in one year.

Volunteer to help trap or transport
Even if you’re not a cat lover, you can contribute by setting and monitoring traps and/or transporting to spay/neuter clinics.

Gaining the trust of a frightened animal is an amazing experience and can lead to cats finding a real home of their own.

An adopted animal is a grateful animal, and they become some of the most loyal companions.
Not ready or able to adopt? Help us find homes for a Wintergreen cat by re-posting or sharing information on our adoptees or offering to transport a cat to their new home.
